Trap Neuter Release (TNR) Program
Help Control Community Cat Populations
Feeding outdoor cats? See stray cats? Be the one to stop another generation from being homeless – Get them fixed!
We work with All About Animals and offer TNR training classes where you can learn:
- Best practices in caring for community cats
- Humane trapping techniques for sterilization
- Winter sheltering tips
- Colony management strategies
TNR Certificates Available
Through our foundation we offer a limited number of certificates each year to those who help with local community cat populations for TNR.

Working Cats Program
A New Solution for Feral Cats
One of our newest programs is our working cat program. It is currently in a testing stage.
What Are Working Cats?
Sometimes we receive feral or outside cats that must be moved but are unable to be placed into a home. Working cats are feral or semi-feral cats that are adopted at no charge for those who have:

- Companionship for other farm animals
- Safe placement for cats that can’t live indoors
What We Ask:
- Provide daily food and water for your new barn cat
- Offer a cozy spot for them to nap
- Allow a few days of acclimation to their new home

Animal Control Partnership
Understanding When to Call Whom
A big piece of our animal community is animal control. We work closely with the Macomb County Animal Control and want to share information about when you should call them versus the Humane Society of Macomb.
When to Call Animal Control:
You should call animal control when you:
- Suspect mistreatment of a pet
- Come across an injured animal in need of veterinary care
- Need assistance with animal welfare enforcement
Wildlife Issues:
If you have a nuisance wildlife issue, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources has a directory to help guide you on who to call for wildlife conflicts:
